The Kalisher Essay Competition 2016

This year’s competition is now open for submissions. Open to Pupils currently undertaking a criminal pupillage.

1st Prize:            £3,000

2nd Prize:          £1,000

3rd Prize:            £500

‘A Judge summing up in a criminal trial should only give directions of law and a route to verdict; it is not necessary or desirable to sum up the evidence’ – Discuss.

Open to pupils currently undertaking a criminal pupillage
As in previous competitions, we invite the pupil’s Chambers to sponsor each entry in the sum of £200.
The competition will be judged by Trustees of the Kalisher Trust and the prizes will be awarded at the Kalisher Lecture at the Central Criminal Court on 18th October 2016.
