SEC Lecture: Black History Month - Forgotten Generations

SEC Lecture: Black History Month - Forgotten Generations - Online Event

Tuesday 7th October 2025

18:00 – 19:00

To mark Black History Month the SEC have invited Donald Campbell of The Forgotten Generations to speak.

Introduction: Rebecca Tuck KC, Barrister at Cloisters and SEC E&D Director

Speaker: Donald Roy Campbell, Founder & Director, The Forgotten Generations CIC

Donald Roy Campbell is the founder, director, and trustee of The Forgotten Generations CIC (TFG), a UK-based organisation founded in June 2021 which seeks to document and promote the stories and contributions of British African and Caribbean people—past and present.

He served for 36 years in the Royal Air Force, retiring as a Warrant Officer in 2006. Over that time, he worked as a Survival Equipment Technician, maintaining life-support and escape systems on fast-jets (Jaguar, Harrier, Tornado, Hawk) and on rotorcraft, and later as Training Manager at the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering at RAF Cosford.

Donald has been recognised for his service with honours and commendations, including one tied to the Queen’s Birthday Honours and awards for exceptional contributions to mentoring, community, and education.

Today, beyond TFG, he acts as a community ambassador and role model—visiting schools, speaking to organisations, engaging with heritage and military history, especially to ensure the stories of the “forgotten generations” are preserved and appreciated.

Donald will be speaking in this online lecture on 7th October, where he will discuss his work, experiences, and the mission of The Forgotten Generations CIC.  Please do join us.

Further details about Donald's work is available via his website here: The Forgotten Generations

Joining instructions will be issued on 7th October.
