Thursday 20/Friday 21 October 2016
**Date for your diary**
For the last two years, the UKAWJ annual conference has taken place at Billesley Manor Hotel near Stratford-upon-Avon. Each event was a great success, as was the theme of “Women in Prison” which the association adopted at its AGM in 2014. This proved an extremely interesting subject, and those who attended the annual conferences enjoyed excellent and thought-provoking speakers and discussions on a whole range of different issues under this heading. The last conference attracted 3.5 CPD hours for members of the AWB and practitioners who sit in a fee paid capacity.
The UKAWJ has now adopted “Religion, Culture and the Law” as the theme for its events over the next 2 years, which will allow for consideration of issues and subjects across a range of jurisdictions.
This will be the focus of the October annual conference, which will be held in Manchester. The dinner will take place on Thursday 20th October and the Conference on Friday 21st.
Attendance will also be open to members of the Association of Women Barristers and the Association of Women Solicitors.
Further information and booking forms will be sent out in due course. But please book the date in your diaries now: we would very much like the conference speakers to reach as wide an audience as possible.
