BACFI Event: Exploring Solutions to the Pupillage Problems
In conjunction with Clerksroom and Beyond Compliance - Exploring Solutions to the Pupillage Problems
Wednesday 12th January 2022
6pm with the meeting open from 5.30pm
Hosted on MS Teams
Attendance at the webinar is free.
The directors of Clerksroom have committed funds to create a charitable entity, the Pupillage Academy, which has made an application to the BSB for authorisation as an AETO; a decision is awaited.
The intention is that the Pupillage Academy systems and processes for managing pupillage will be available to other organisations and chambers who feel that they are presently excluded from being able to offer pupillage due to the prohibited regulatory and cost requirements.
The structural and contractual requirements for this to work is being discussed with the BSB from a regulatory point of view but it would be very useful to gain insight from the employed bar as to the challenges they face in the current pupillage regime.
Joining us to help facilitate the workshop are:
Stephen Ward, Managing Director of Clerksroom,
Michaela Hardwick, Regulatory Compliance Officer and Pupillage Coordinator at Clerksroom and Managing Director at Beyond Compliance Limited and;
Chelsea Sparks, Pupil Barrister at Clerksroom and Compliance Consultant at Beyond Compliance Limited
