In this 60 Minute Q&A on protest law, Tom will cover a wide range of examples, including an update on key issues in the law of protest, presented by one of the leading practitioners in the field. This seminar will cover topical issues which have led to the growth of such cases, ongoing developments in the law, and the approach of the courts to the defences advanced.
Biography:
Tom Wainwright was called to the bar in 2003 and currently practices from Garden Court Chambers. He known as a specialist in protest law, and notably he represented the topplers of the Colston statute in Bristol and “Stanstead 15” protesters. He has appeared as a Leading Junior in a number of high profile and complex cases and is known for the depth and breadth of his expertise. He is also the lead author of the Protest Law Handbook.
